I love your rants, Valerie… It’s sad that they’ll fall on largely deaf ears attached to a blind administration. Your rants sound much like my wife’s father and myself when we get together and watch.listen to some of the most inane garbage the government is doing. *sighs* A government that has become as ours has deserves to fall like Rome did…

Perhaps being plunged into a Dark Age is just what this country needs.

The main problem with the census, as I see it, is the lies they perpetuate to get people to fill them out. If they just speak the truth…that it’s as much about dividing federal monies for social programs, locating pockets of “minority” groups and their numbers, and other data as it is about apportioning districts, electoral vote division, etc.

There’s no other reason to threaten with prison time and thousands of dollars in fines for something as simple as “we want to know where to divide the districts for the next election”. There’s a far deeper reason for collecting the data.

Of course, asking for the truth from the government is like asking a sea bass to walk on land and take a test for you…It just isn’t going to happen.

Great idea, only one big problem, it incorporates a lot of common sense. Common sense is too complicated for these types of endeavors.

Thanks Chris. I’d forgot about the newegg reviews. After reading those, I can see that this drive isn’t what we want. Unless I want a total teenager breakdown in a month when it crashes…

Honestly, I haven’t used a Seagate in long time. I have always been a Western Digital guy, so I’m not of any use in the personal experience category.

However, when looking for product reviews, I tend to check Amazon and NewEgg. In my opinion, Amazon reviews tend to be a bit more “man on the street” while the reviews on NewEgg seem to be by more professionals and geeks.
