Notes for Lillian Estella WILLINGHAM
Obituary. Akron Beacon Journal on Sunday, February 10, 2002.

“Estella L. Trowbridge of Green, Ohio passed away Sunday, February 3, 2002 at the age of 103.

“Essie” was born in Curdsville, KY in 1899. She was truly a character and had many friends and family who will mill her greatly. As one of 8 children, she worked on the family farm and developed her love for gardening. She was very proud of the fact that, as a teenager, she helped her father break horses. She made many friends while running a local service station and grocery store that later became a tavern the featured her “home cooking.” Her passions in life were cooking, gardening, playing cards with friends, and listening to the Cleveland Indians on the radio.

She is survived by son-in-law George “Bill” Ostrander of Flordia: Granddaughters Nancy (Bob) Rice of Texas, Patricia (Max) Pickel of Stow, and Karen Lawrence of Florida; Grandsons William (Julie) Ostrander of Medina, and Richard (Colleen) Wooten of Stow; 13 Great Grandchildren and 10 Great Great Grandchildren. She is also survived by her long time caregiver and companion, Barbie Rhoades of Barberton.

She was preceded in death by her husbands James C. Wootton and John Trowbridge; daughter Virginia R. Ostrander; and sons James Wootton and Richard Wootton, all of Green.

There will be a memorial mass at the Queen of Heaven Parish, 1800 Steese Rd., Green, OH on February 23, 2002 at 10:30 a.m. Following Essie’s wishes, she will be cremated and a private burial will take place at a later date in Oakwood Cemetery, Cuyahoga Falls. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Visiting Nurse Service and Hospice of Akron.”
