I’m voting AGAINST *communism*

I’ve been trying to keep up with the facts about or presidential candidates, tough to do with all the BS and outright lies in the commercials (on both sides). This scares me:

For Individuals: According to the Tax Policy Center, a nonpartisan center-left organization, Americans up until the 99th percentile are more likely to see a tax cut than a tax increase under Obama’s proposals. Only the richest one percent or so — those with household incomes north of $500,000 in 2009 — would be more likely to face a tax hike. The nonpartisan Tax Foundation, which is generally sympathetic to lower taxes, particularly on the capital class, takes the analysis one step further. “The Obama plan would redistribute more than $131 billion per year from the top 1 percent of taxpayers to all other taxpayers,” writes Foundation president Scott Hodge.

The Obama plan would redistribute more that $131 billion per year… WHAT!!!??? Are we really turning into a communist country? Redistributing income… sure sounds like it.

I’d already taken exception to all the tax credits proposed by Obama, many of them in excess of taxes actually owed where people will get back more than they actually paid, much like the “earned income credit.” I’ve known a few people who qualified for that. They all had houses full of electronics, digital cable tv, cell phones, shelves full of DVDs and video games, high-speed internet, etc., yet they’re considered the “working poor” and somehow deserve some of my money to live at a higher standard of living.

I think I may need to pack my bags and move somewhere else if the country keeps heading down this road.
