Plot holes

I’m forgiving of television writers. They’re under deadlines that movie writers don’t face. But I’m trying to wrap my mind around the major plot hole in “Ghost Whisperer.”

Melinda inherited her “gift” from her mother and maternal grandmother. Got it. A few seasons ago, a brother (Gabriel) shows up, supposedly from an illicit affair her father had, with the same gifts as Melinda. Huh? How’d that work? It didn’t come her father’s side of the family in the first place.

So, in tonight’s season finale, we now find out that Melinda’s father¬† isn’t even her father. So now Gabriel, who has the same “powers” as Melinda, isn’t even related?

Please, CBS, please tie this all together.
