The Victor – not victorious!

After our day in Philly, my sister and I went across the bridge into Camden in search of dinner. (The GPS had a salad place listed, but it being Sunday evening near a college campus, it was closed.) So, we decided to drive around a bit and find something else.

Down near the water we chuckled as we saw a big sign for “The Victor” (Luxury waterfront condos). As we rounded the turn we noticed a restaurant so we went around the block again to go there. No street parking, but a large parking lot across the street. Fine. Big lot, lots of cars, lots of fences and no way to get in that we could see. Okay, not a problem, there’s a lot on the other side of the The Victor. Found a spot in the corner – we could see the restaurant — on the other side of a locked gate.

Huh?

Were we missing something? Shouldn’t it be obvious how to get into a restaurant? Maybe they just want locals or something. Bad for business, when tourists can’t find the entrance. Or maybe, since they were the only thing open, they don’t care. Hard to believe they’ll be around for long, though. That’s about as bad as it gets when potential patrons can’t find your front door. It wasn’t even dark yet, but we finally gave up and hopped back in the car and stopped between Philly and DC.

Oh well.
