Little known info about the Veterans Improved Pension Benefits
I’m posting this hoping that some folks will find some benefit to it, and party because I have a tendency to lose brochures, etc., and I wanted to make sure I could get my hands on this info if I needed it again. Most folks are not aware that there are additional benefits for Veterans or their Widow(ers). There is something called an “improved pension benefit”. What does it take to qualify? only 90 days of continuous, active duty military service, one of which was during wartime. any discharge other than a dishonorable discharge disabled OR at least age 65 For seniors living in assisted living or other senior facilities who are at least 65, there is up to $1950 per month available TAX FREE. WordCamp Raleigh Day 1
Great day at WordCamp Raleigh. Not only did I meet a bunch of folks that were nearly as enthusiastic about the power of WordPress as me, but I also got to learn a lot of great stuff from the experts. By experts, I mean the folks like Lisa Sabin-Wilson, Cory Miller and Brad Williams. Looking forward to day 2. Powered by ScribeFire. Share and Enjoy:
A socialism experiment

That class had insisted that Obama’s socialism would work and that no one would be poor and no one would be rich, a great equalizer. The professor then said, “OK, we will have an experiment in this class on Obama’s plan”. All grades would be averaged and everyone would receive the same grade so no one would fail and no one would receive an A… After the first test, the grades were averaged and everyone got a B. The students who studied hard were upset and the students who studied little were happy. As the second...
Vermicomposting
I’m giving vermicomposting a try after a great presentation at the The Backyard Gardeners meeting last month at the Chesapeake Public Library. William Jowers, Chowan County, NC, Master Gardener Volunteer will present, “There Are Worms in My Kitchen…”, a program on vermiculture and vermicomposting. Raising worms for compost is a fascinating topic and is something that can easily be accomplished by anyone. Bill will define vermiculture, explain the needed components, give direction on how to start, and show how it can be done to meet your specific needs. He will also discuss the benefits of vermicomposting and its positive effect on your soil health and gardening productivity. This is an informative program that is a must for all...
